Mole Control ProgramMichigan Pest and Wildlife Management offers an innovative mole control program which will keep your yard mole free for the entire season, guaranteed. We use a product called Talpirid which is the first product of its kind and the only product scientifically proven to eliminate moles. Unlike traditional mole control programs, there is no need for dangerous traps or chemical lawn sprays. Talpirid mimics their natural food source and is applied directly into the tunnel system. Moles can consume a lethal dose in a single feeding and results can be seen in as little as 24 hours. We offer annual and three month mole control programs, both of which are backed up by our industry-leading guarantee. If you see any new mole activity we will be out to treat the problem within 24 hours of your call at no additional cost to you.

Mole Facts
Moles are insectivores and are not closely related to rodents. The average mole's life span is approximately 2 to 3 years. They are solitary creatures except for when they come together to breed in the late winter and early spring. The young are born after a 30 to 45 day gestation and are weaned at 3 to 5 weeks of age. They are incredibly strong and are capable of moving up to 32 times their body weight with their front feet. Moles do not hibernate they simply burrow deeper during the colder months to get below the frost line. They spend almost their entire life underground making them a very rare sight even in heavily infested areas. There are many methods currently being used to control moles and the majority of them have been found to be largely ineffective. One of the most common home remedies are poison peanuts and grain based pellets. Moles eat insects and don't even recognize these baits as a possible food source. In laboratory tests where they have been given only pellets to eat and they could either eat them or starve they refused to eat them and starved in 100% of the tests.Ultra sonic devices have also been found not to be effective. Bell Laboratories even claims to have found evidence that they may actually attract moles. Repellants that are sprayed on lawns have very limited success and are quickly rendered useless by the weather. Traps can be used to control them but require quite a bit of skill to be effective and may be dangerous to use around children and pets. Recent studies have shown that the majority of a mole's diet consists of earthworms. This helps explain why having your lawn sprayed for grubs does very little to get rid of them. In fact, in the majority of lawns we service for moles, grubs are not even present to begin with. Moles have a very high metabolism and must consume nearly their entire body weight every day to meet their nutritional needs. In their pursuit of food moles can tunnel at a rate of up to 18 feet per hour making short work of most lawns.
